Description

Dansyl hydrazine is a short-wavelength, UV-excited, fluorescent dye that has various applications in chemistry and biochemistry. It is a derivative of dansyl chloride, a compound commonly used for labeling and detecting amines and amino acids. Dansyl hydrazine itself is often employed for similar purposes. Dansyl hydrazine can be used to label primary and secondary amines in molecules, such as proteins and peptides. This labeling is useful for various applications, including protein analysis and drug development. Dansyl hydrazine is used to derivatize amino acids, making them more amenable to analysis by techniques like high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and mass spectrometry (MS).
